What Makes A Great BBQ Restaurant?

There are two main types of BBQ restaurant, those that grill food and those that smoke food. Many would say that slow and low smoked food is the only true barbecue, but try telling that to the lovers of Argentinian and Australian grill restaurants!

Have an open mind and you can enjoy fall off the bone ribs and grilled barramundi; don't limit your tastebuds.

There's something about a barbecue restaurant that sets it apart from other restauarants.Barbecue is such an informal type of food and I think that's what makes a great BBQ restaurant; an informal, chatty, maybe a bit noisy, just like eating in your own backyard atmosphere.

This might seem a bit obvious but to be a great restauarnt you need great food, not only that, you need a great choice. If your after low and slow you're going to expect ribs, as well as a choice of chicken, beef and pork. If you like yor grills you'll be looking for a choice of steaks, fish, and shrimp

Whenever I go to a restaurant I like to try the local and national food, and the same goes barbecue restaurants. I've had grilled kangaroo steak and barracuda from an Aussie restaurant.

Man (or woman) cannot eat meat alone, can they? Well even if you can, a great BBQ restaurant needs to serve some delicious sides, like corn, potatoes, fries, salad and coleslaw. It's amazing how many restaurants cook supurb meat and then let themselves down with the side dishes.

Best Barbecue Restaurants

Here are two of the best barbeque restaurants. If you know of one just as good, or better, let me know by sending me the details.

Sonny's Bar-B-Q advertises itself as a 'real' Bar=B-Que restaurant, meaning low and slow smoked food. In fact it's a chain of restauarants in the USA offering franchises.

It has a selection of ribs, pork, beef chicken, burgers, shrimp and catfish.

They've been around for about 40 years, so they must be doing something right.

Famous Dave's is very similar to Sonny's Bar-B-Q with about 170 restuarants located in 36 states of the USA using the franchise business model.

It's ben in business for about 25 years and is another 'real' barbecue type restaurant
