Barbecue Salmon Steak
With Dill And Thyme

>You'll love this barbecue salmon steak with dill and thyme recipe. Grilling them in packets means they cook in there own juices with the butter and herbs, resulting in really tender salmon steaks.

Serves 6

Preperation: 10 minutes

Marinate: 2 to 4 hours

Cooking: 14 to 16 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 lemons
  • 6 salmon steaks, about 8oz (250g) per steak
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh dill, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh thyme, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  1. Grate the zest from 2 lemons and put in a shallow dish with the fresh chopped dill and thyme.
  2. Wash the salmon steaks in cold running water and pat dry with kitchen paper. Then place in the dish with the lemon zest, dill and thyme. Rub the steaks with the mixture lightly on both sides.
  3. Place the salmon on one half of a piece of aluminium foil about 12 inches (30cm) square. Put a tablespoon of butter on the top of each piece of salmon. Then fold the other half of the foil over the steak and crimp all of the edges together to form a sealed packet for the salmon steaks.
  4. Place the salmon packets on a hot grill and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Turn the packet over and grill for a further 5 minutes.
  6. Place each of your packets on seperate plates and open the packets to reveal the salmon.
  7. Serve your barbecue salmon steak with dill and thyme immediatelly with lemon wedges and season with salt and pepper to taste.
